And we're off...

Up at 5:30 in the a.m. to leave for our trip to Washington and Oregon. The kids had mixed reactions to the first few moments of the trip. We left on a Friday morning and our first stop was: my in-laws house. My mother in law, Laurel, had her 50th high school reunion that weekend so we decided to make a big trip out of it and stop for her reunion at the half way point. It was fun to drive with them and have other distractions for the kids.
Later in the day, they made separate "rooms" in the back seat.

Probably the best part of our journey there: homemade food. I made muffins, brought yummy bread and meat, pesto and other fixings for gourmet sandwiches (the kids still had PB&J), it saved money and made me feel so much better about what we were eating. I sliced cucumbers, boiled eggs, separated grapes and put everything in their own tupperwares- it worked great.
We stopped at a fun little park in Mountain Home, Idaho for lunch and potty break.

There was a pretty cool memorial to Desert Storm with a cool jet.

Once at the hotel in Ontario, Oregon all the kids wanted to do was swim.

We dropped off the in-laws at the reunion and then went off to find a place to eat for dinner

We found a cute little Italian restaurant on Main Street and had a great time feeding our little faces

Double fisting drinks- silly boy!
